Why did you choose the UPMC residency program?
As an engineer, PM&R is appealing to me because it involves a lot of problem-solving. I love the opportunity to think creatively with my colleagues to figure out how we can maximize function for our patients. UPMC is a leader in the field of physiatry, both clinically and in research, and I was drawn to UPMC because of the emphasis on rehabilitation engineering research specifically. From the top down, the program is dedicated to resident wellness and cultivating an environment where each resident can become the best physiatrist they can be, so the supportive culture combined with the clinical and research opportunities made UPMC an easy choice.
