Two of PM&R's trainees, sports medicine fellow Dr. Allison Bean and resident Dr. Matthew Sherrier, were recognized at the 2020 Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) Annual Meeting from March 4-9 in Orlando, FL. Dr. Bean received the McClean Outstanding Resident/Fellow Award. Dr. Sherrier received a research grant from the Foundation of PM&R for his work entitled, "Impact of leukemia inhibitory factor on bone health in Duchenne muscular dystrophy."
PM&R alumni, Dr. Shanti Pinto, was recognized as a Faculty Award Winner for AAP Best Paper.
