Faculty Update - May 2021

Dr. Amy Houtrow provided a testimony at the recent hearing of the US Senate Special Committee on Aging, chaired by Senator Bob Casey detailing how the COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted people with disabilities.

Dr. Yetsa Tuakli-Wosornu was interviewed for the Newsletter of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine on work with her sports equity lab.

Dr. Yetsa Tuakli-Wosornu won AMSSM’s 2021 Best Overall Research Award for “The Athletes Rights Survey: A Step Towards Intentional Injury (Abuse) Prevention in Sport”.

Dr. Fabrisia Ambrosio’s paper “The biphasic and age-dependent impact of Klotho on hallmarks of aging and skeletal muscle function” was accepted for publication in eLife.

Dr. Jennifer Collinger and Dr. Robert Gaunt’s paper "A brain-computer interface that evokes tactile sensations improves robotic arm control" paper accepted for publication in Science.

Dr. Amy Wagner was featured in a blog highlighting her paper “Acute Care Brain Injury Medicine Continuity Consultation Service Associations with Healthcare Utilization and Rehabilitation Outcomes Among Individuals with Acquired Brain Injury”.

Dr. Betty Liu was interviewed in story “What to Know About Acupuncture for Plantar Fasciitis” in The Healthy newsletter.

Dr. Brad Dicianno was promoted to full Professor.

Dr. Angie Garcia was Accepted into the Medical Education Certificate Program for Summer 2021.
