Innovating in research, the faculty at the Department of PM&R are #2 in NIH funding in the field (ranked by the Blue Ridge Institute). Ongoing projects include: development of brain-computer interface technology; investigation of somatosensory function; understanding back pain through mechnobiology and molecular biomarkers; designing neuroprosthetics and adaptive technologies; and much more.
