Dr. Jorge Candiotti is a Research Biomedical Engineer for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Associate Professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh in the Human Engineering Research Laboratories. His research focuses on assistive technology, user-centered design, and translational research. Current projects include robotic wheelchair designs to improve functional performance and safe driving in challenging environments, wheelchair instrumentation for health monitoring and injury prevention, and educational gamification to address transportation barriers and promote greater community participation among individuals with mobility impairments.
