Why did you choose the UPMC residency program?
I rotated through UPMC for an away rotation as a medical student, and I could not have been more impressed with the kindness and compassion I saw for the patients and the staff. The residents all spoke highly of their program, and they also helped me navigate through my first PM&R rotation ever. I believe this program produces well-rounded physiatrists in any subspecialty they choose. They have many residents match into the fellowship of their choosing and retain many residents as staff. Growing up close by in Wheeling, WV, we love driving to Pittsburgh on a weekend and watching the Pens/Pirates/Steelers/Hounds games. I am happy I will still be able to stay close to my family in WV and continue to help the rural population of our collective area.
