Welcoming Our Next President for the Rehabilitation Institute

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce that Brian Hagen has accepted the role of president, UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, effective Thursday, May 1. In this capacity, Brian will collaborate with hospital presidents and physician leaders from Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Rehab Network to ensure our services across the care continuum meet the needs of our community. He will continue to report to Andy. 

photo of Brian HaganBrian is a familiar face at the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, having served as vice president of Operations since 2008. With over 30 years of experience at UPMC in various roles, Brian is a well-respected expert who brings stability to the position of president. His focus on quality and efficiency has been instrumental in creating exceptional experiences for staff, physicians, and patients. Brian's spirit of creativity and passion for innovation will serve him well in this new role. He is a strong collaborator, teacher, and leader who has successfully managed numerous large and complex projects, contributing significantly to the success of the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute.

Brian holds a Master of Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University, an advanced Master of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University.

As a proven leader with an impressive tenure at UPMC, Brian will work to grow and expand the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute. we are excited to continue working with Brian as we advance patient care throughout the communities we serve.

In the meantime, we will conduct a search to fill the position of vice president of Operations, UPMC Rehabilitation Institute.
