Why did you choose UPMC residency program?

As a field that is rooted in functionality and improving quality of life, I immediately felt at home in PM&R amongst professionals whose vision of healthcare aligned with my own. I’ve developed a passion for its holistic, innovative, and hands-on approach to medicine and appreciate the focus on advocacy and interdisciplinary teams. It was clear that the UPMC program is incredibly innovative and on the forefront of a rapidly growing specialty. Between its well-rounded training, inspiring leadership, and endless research opportunities, I knew I would have incredible training and the support and mentorship to succeed in any area of PM&R I decided to pursue. In addition, I could easily tell that the program residents and faculty treated each other as family. Lastly, I was excited to explore a new city, and Pittsburgh seemed like a great fit for me!
