Dr. Paul completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in multiculturalism and diversity from John F Kennedy University, CA. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, CA. Dr. Paul is board certified in rehabilitation psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.  She has clinical expertise with various rehabilitation populations, including adults and geriatrics with spinal cord injuries, acquired and traumatic brain injury, amputees, medical complexities, and burns. She assists in recruitment of faculty and program development for the division, provides inpatient rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology services to patients at UPMC Mercy Rehabilitation Institute and UPMC Mercy hospital trauma service, and participates in the hospitals Ethics Committee. Dr. Paul is also engaged in various clinical research, including clinical research team member for the SCI Model Systems.  Areas of clinical interest include substance abuse, post-stroke depression, capacity evaluations, multiple sclerosis, cognitive behavioral therapies, mindfulness-based therapies, cultural diversity, wellness, sexuality and disability. In addition to her work in the department, Dr. Paul serves on the Board of Directors as the mentor chair for the American Board of Professional Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology Specialty.
