Why did you choose the UPMC residency program?
I fell in love with PM&R due to the specialty's focus on return to function and optimizing a patient's quality of life. When deciding on a residency program, I chose UPMC for their comprehensive training, collegial nature, and location in one of my favorite cities. With PM&R being such a broad field, I wanted to make sure I trained at a program that will allow me to explore every aspect of physiatry. During my rotation at UPMC as a medical student, I worked with a great team of physicians, nurses, and staff that were extremely supportive of me choosing PM&R. Finally, Pittsburgh is an amazing city with many recreational activities outside of the hospital.
