Why did you choose the UPMC residency program?
All of the elements that drew me to PM&R including holistic, interdisciplinary, and personalized care, also led me to recognize UPMC as the ideal institution to complete my training. Each faculty member, coming from a wide range of backgrounds, brings a unique perspective and skillset to enhance the scope of their trainees' toolbox. This has allowed graduates to excel within the field, becoming leaders in clinical practice, administration, and research. Having worked with a UPMC graduate as a medical student, I recognized the culture of lifelong learning and mentorship that lives within the program beyond residency and fellowship. I knew that UPMC would afford me the opportunity to explore all of the incredible facets of PM&R through its multitude of resources and further foster my growth as a physiatrist well into the future through its academic excellence and high regard for physician wellness. Also, I looked forward to being in the Burgh where I can continue to root on my home sports teams, the Pittsburgh Pens and Steelers!
