Save the date! 19th Annual Rehabilitation Institute Research Day

The 19th annual Rehabilitation Institute Research Day will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 in the William Pitt Union Assembly Room and Ballroom. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation School of Medicine, the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute.
 
We are excited to host the following distinguished keynote speakers: 
Brenes Lecture - James Atchison, DO, Chair, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and physician in the Department of Neurologic Surgery at Mayo Clinic hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
 
SHRS Lecture - Julie Fritz PT, PhD, FAPTA, Distinguished Professor and Associate Dean of Research at the University of Utah’s Department of Physical Therapy at the College of Health in Salt Lake City, UT.
 
RI Day wouldn't be possible without the contributions of Dr. Corina Bondi, Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Dr. Shawn Flanagan, Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition.
 
Abstracts will be accepted in the following categories:
  • Resident
  • Post-doc
  • Pre-doc/Master’s
  • Medical Student
  • Undergraduate
The abstract winner in each category will receive a $250 prize and will be selected for a 15-minute oral presentation. All other abstracts will be invited to compete as poster presentations for $50 awards for each trainee category. Case studies will be accepted as posters but will not be considered for awards.
