Our conference theme is “One Athlete, Many Lenses: How Interdisciplinary Teamwork Powers Participation, Performance, and Community.” Adaptive athletes succeed when care teams work together; each discipline brings a distinct role, perspective, and expertise in pursuit of a common goal: supporting safe participation, performance, independence, and lifelong engagement in sport and recreation.
The UPMC Adaptive Sports Conference will offer healthcare workers, trainees, and students an opportunity to learn the essential medical knowledge needed to safely volunteer with and provide medical coverage to adaptive athletes at Pittsburgh based adaptive sports events. Attendees will come together to learn about disability etiquette, medical coverage basics, and gain hands-on experience with adaptive sports equipment. Additionally, this event will offer the additional benefit of a panel of experts made up of adaptive athletes that are part of the Pittsburgh adaptive sports community. Earn CME/CEU credits.
