Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship

The Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship is one year ACGME accredited BIM fellowship in the United States (ACGME #3474134001). The program is available to a Board Certified/Board Eligible candidate trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

The majority of training will be conducted at the Brain Injury Unit at UPMC Rehabilitation Institute (RI) at Mercy where we provide the highest level of comprehensive and multidisciplinary rehabilitation care that includes emergency medical, acute medical, and post-acute services.

RI is also the clinical site of our NeuroRehabilitation Education and Rehabilomics Research model center. As a designated TBI Model System (TBIMS), funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, we play a pivotal role in building national capacity for high-quality treatment and research serving persons with TBI, their families, and their communities.
